TECHNICAL SUBCOMMITTEES

 

The development of PICMG specifications is performed by technical subcommittees under the supervision of the PICMG Technical Advisory Committee in the USA.

A technical subcommittee is formed by the request of a prospective Technical Subcommittee Chairman and two or more additional PICMG Executive Members.
A technical subcommittee is composed of its Chairman, its Secretary, its voting members, and its non-voting participants.

In order to initiate a specification development project, the prospective chairman must recruit two or more PICMG Executive Members and come to an agreement with them as to the content of the project. The result of that agreement is the Preliminary Statement of Work (SOW).
The intent to sponsor a new technical subcommittee is declared when the prospective, or interim, chairman forwards the Preliminary Statement of Work to the PICMG Technical Officer.

The PICMG Technical Officer will then issue a Call for Participation to all PICMG Executive and Associate members, making reference to the Preliminary Statement of Work. 
Responding representatives are required to submit an Intellectual Property Rights Policy Acknowledgement form along with their response.
