PICMG technical committees
PICMG forms new technical committee: CompactPCI Plus

PICMG has formed a new technical subcommittee to extend the current CompactPCI standard for both the 3U and 6U form factors mainly for applications in industry, avionics, transportation, and medical. Also existing telecom systems basing on CompactPCI shall benefit from that standard. It is the common understanding of the subcommittee members that CompactPCI Plus does not cover the same market segments as MicroTCA.

PICMG subcommittees

PICMG forms 2 new technical subcommittees: 3.1 R2.0 and ARTM.0

PICMG 3.1 R2.0

The purpose of the Working Group is to develop enumerated requirements that incorporate 1000BASE-KX, 10GBASE-KX4 and 10GBASE-KR fabric options into Revision 2.0 of the PICMG 3.1 specifications. A key goal of this activity is to guarantee backward compatibility with existing 3.x blade mechanicals and connectors, and interoperability with BX/BX4 fabric options.

 

ARTM.0
The objective of the ATCA RTM Interface Specification subcommittee is to specify criteria for Rear Transition Module (RTM) products and corresponding ATCA front boards, including ATCA Zone 3 connectors, connector locations, signal-to-pin mappings, management, hot-swap, e-keying, power and cooling.
The specification is intended to facilitate RTMs that are compatible with a variety of ATCA front boards and ultimately give customers more choices for extending ATCA functionality through RTMs.
